Benghaz....

Benghazi.  Well, the latest Republican House Inquisition on Benghazi has managed to find absolutely nothing wrong with the actions of the White House or the intelligence community, no matter how hard they tried.

I just took a look at a lot of the sites I normally cover in Wingnut Wrapup.  Will it surprise you to learn that not a single one of them, collectively responsible for hundreds if not thousands of posts over the last two years hyping this nonexistent scandal, has mentioned this latest result a single time?

And what do you want to bet that, as the 2016 election approaches, and the right wingers figure that people have forgotten about this, all of the lies will return in full force, but the truth will be nowhere to be seen?

And if you do happen to be a betting person, what will you wager that the mainstream press will not bother to point out that the Benghazi scandal was all a gigantic lie from the beginning?  Hint, if you are wondering which way to bet:  When has the mainstream press ever pointed out that everything the Republicans advocate ends in disaster, so they have nothing but gigantic lies to run on?

Time for the Republicans to form a Committee to investigate how the Democrats managed to trick them into wasting so much Congressional time and money investigating a non scandal.

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
